Price Approval Flow

Full-Speed Automation. Smarter Guardrails. More Confidence.

At Omnia, our Dynamic Pricing platform empowers high-performance automation, enabling pricing decisions at scale with precision and speed. With our Price Approval Flow, we’re taking automation one step further by adding smart, configurable guardrails so that you can automate with confidence, knowing that every exception is flagged and nothing slips through the cracks.

What Is The Price Approval Flow?

The Price Approval Flow introduces a structured, customizable review process embedded directly into your pricing strategy. While the engine continues to automate the majority of pricing recommendations, this feature flags select prices for manual review based on thresholds you define. This ensures greater control without sacrificing speed.

This gives you a seamless combination of:

✅ Scalable automation - for fast, efficient price decisions

🛡️ Human oversight - where it truly matters

In short, you define what gets flagged, Omnia handles the rest.

How It Works

  1. Set Approval Thresholds

Create custom rules within your pricing strategy to determine when a price recommendation should be flagged. This could include:

    • Large deviations in margin or value
    • Category-specific price changes
    • Any custom variables you define as high-risk

Some of the potential use cases/ scenarios:

Branch threshold - one approval threshold for all business rules inside a branch

Many of our customers create strategy decision trees in which each branch (a section between the dotted line) handles a specific part of their product assortment (e.g. a top-level category, products of a specific branch or all products with a certain inventory risk). Inside of each branch, our customers often place multiple business rules - each of them covering the pricing logic for a specific market or assortment condition.

If you want to apply one approval rule for all products that enter this branch, place the approval threshold node right after the if-statements that controls for which part of the assortment the following rules apply.

In the example below, you could place it right after the “midCategory” = “dishwasher” condition. The approval threshold will be applied for prices calculated by all 3 different business rules.

Business rule thresholds - fine-grained approval thresholds per business rule

With Omnia’s pricing tree approach, you have the flexibility to apply granular approval thresholds for individual business rules (or “sub-branches”). If you follow the principle of placing the node “early as necessary and as late as possible”, you can decide for each business rule individually whether or not manual review is required.
In the example below,

  • the first business rule only requires approval if matching position 2 leads to a price recommendation that is more than 5% cheaper than your current selling price
  • The 2nd business rule always requires approval to ensure that you are not unnecessarily matching the only relevant competitor in the market if not necessary.
  • The 3rd business rule is fully automated - no manual price reviews are needed as your selling price will not change and no competitors are present in the market

  2.  Centralized Pending Approval Dashboard

All flagged prices are automatically routed to the Pending Approval Dashboard, where your team can:

    • View recommendations with full contextscreenshot
    • Approve, reject, or adjust prices

    • Use bulk actions to streamline decisions

      3. Deploy with Full Control

Once approved, prices move forward in the automation pipeline through the reports, giving you the confidence that only vetted decisions go live.

The approved or edited prices will be included in the report once you rerun the report manually or wait for the next report run.
